From Japan, the veins of the leaf are resected with a very special technique. Peering out from in between the delicate green tea leaves are little grains of popped brown rice and popped corn. They are the main part of this nice green tea with a slightly tart taste and a pleasant flavor. Although highly fragrant, Genmai-cha's aroma is softer than that of Houji-Cha. As with Houji-Cha, pour a generous amount of freshly boiled water into the teapot when preparing. Perfect as a digestive after meal drink, this tea leaves one feeling clean and refreshed.
